Description

Another cloche style, this time in straw. The trimmings are done with a lovely wired taffeta ribbon. The rose was actually meant for a different project but didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to. It fit perfectly for this though. The peacock feathers are partially stripped to make them seem airier, and were curled to give just the right drape. Brim and crown were blocked in two separate pieces.

It's fantastic. I admit I think I'd like it with a wool or velvet rather than straw, but the shaping of the feathers and the colors with that ribbon rose is wonderful. It has an excellent drape and richness to it.
